- Whitewood
Sourced from Scandinavia and Russia, Pine is a very stable wood. It has a good straight grain, can be easily stained, its colour is white to pale yellowish-brown heartwood with a natural lustre.
- Redwood
Sourced from Scandinavia and Russian, known also as Pine and Scot's Pine, its colour is pale yellowish-brown to red-brown heartwood with lighter-coloured sapwood.
- American White Oak
The sapwood of American white oak is light coloured and the heartwood is light to dark brown. White oak is mostly straight grained with a medium to coarse texture.
- Dark red hardwood
Colour varies from reddish brown to deep reddish brown. Medium textured, the grain is straight to interlocked.
- Ash
The colour of ash is cream to very light brown heartwood with lighter coloured sapwood. Ash has a straight, moderately open grain. It is hard, strong, stiff, high in shock resistance with excellent bending qualities and above average workability.
- European Oak
The sapwood is creamy white and is sharply defined from the golden, warm-brown of the heartwood. The timber is hard, heavy and durable. Coarse in texture and straight grained, requiring careful seasoning, it can be worked to a fine finish.
- Douglas Fir
An excellent wood with both strength and beautiful grain. Its color ranges from light red to pale yellow. It is available free of heart centers, which means that the usual 'bulls eye' heart wood found in the center of most beams is absent. Free of heart timber also checks less and is more stable than timber which does have heart wood.
- Walnut
The colour varies from a light grey-brown to a chocolate brown to purplish brown, and finishes beautifully with an excellent decorative appearance due to its outstanding grain, colour and pattern. Grain patterns vary from very plain to highly figured.
- Hemlock
Hemlock is a great, economical wood, It is pale in color and naturally richens over time. Hemlock is very strong, has a long grain and is a renewable resource and its naturally resistant to rotting.
